Using a Fireplace Screen Curtain or Small Fireplace Screen
To Install Before you buy your fireplace screen curtain be sure you do some measuring. Obviously there’s a big difference between a curtain that is 36×48 and one that is 25×48! You’ll need a drill to screw the mounting bracket and rods into place, but it is not a complicated project for anyone. Using the Curtain Many find that using a fireplace screen curtain with a small fireplace screen is best. If you don’t have children or pets to worry about, you can open the curtain and use the fireplace screen on its own for a more unobstructed view of the fire. Or if you see the curtain as being somewhat unsightly, you can purchase a lovely fireplace screen to put in front of it for a better view. Remember that you want to make sure that whatever you have in front of your fireplace, it goes well with your overall décor. A wrought iron fireplace screen may seem more traditional than a brass fireplace screen which may be very fancy. Make sure the screen doesn’t overwhelm your décor either; you may like the fancy scrollwork and details but they may make your fireplace screen stand out too much. Using a fireplace screen curtain is not just about aesthetics; it’s about safety as well. So choose one carefully and install it properly before you use your fireplace again!
