Many Platforms-Long Histories
Galaga arcade games have been ported to many different gaming systems. In 2004 Galaga was released on the mobile platform. In 2009 iPhone released the Galaga Remix version and Sprint is offering subscribers a Dual Fighter Mode version of the game. Galaga (Gyaraga in the original Japanese), was developed and published by Namco in Japan in 1979. It was introduced in America in 1981 by Midway. Originally the game was titled “Galaxian”. The Galaxian series, includes Galaxian (1979), Galaga (1981), Gaplus/Galaga 3 (1984), Galaga ’88 (1987) and Galaga Legions (2008). And to show how the manufacturer of the world’s most recognizable video game unit is keeping with the seasons, Galaga most recently appeared as a Hallmark greeting card company Christmas tree ornament in 2009.
